Applying for a property
Since 2006 we have been part of theĀ Fife Housing Register, working in partnership with other housing providers in Fife to simplify access to housing and promote a more customer-focused approach to the allocation of social housing. As such, everyone who applies for social housing in Fife now does so through theĀ Fife Housing Register.
The register means that you only have to fill in one application form giving your circumstances and preferences. AllĀ Fife Housing Register partnersĀ can then consider your application. This makes the best use of homes across Fife.
Anyone aged over 16 can be accepted onto the Register.
What happens once I have completed a Fife Housing Register application?
The information contained within Fife Housing Register applications is used to work out who is most in need of housing, using a points system.
How long will I have to wait for a house?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to provide an accurate timeframe for this as there are always more applicants than available properties. It is unlikely that we will be able to allocate you a home straight away so your application will most likely be addedĀ to the housing waiting list. When a property becomes available that matches your preferences, and the points you have been allocated put your application at the top of the list, we will contact you directly to discuss yourĀ options further.
