Arson

Arson is a criminal offence and you need to report it to Police Scotland immediately on 999. You must also tell them if you are concerned about your safety.

Once you have reported it to the Police, please contact us with the incident report number or crime reference and the Police Officer’s name. We will then be able to agree on the next steps with you, the Police and/or Safer Communities and Scottish Fire and Rescue.

As arson is recognised as anti-social behaviour, we will require:

• A description of the incident

Details of what the issue is, including precise dates, times and regularity of incident(s).

• Details of who you are reporting

Include name(s), address(es) and any other relevant information.

• Confirmation of who is affected by the incident and how

Include details of how this has affected you or others and contact information for other tenants who can give further evidence.

• Information about where it has happened

Address, common stairs, garden, car park and so on.

• Guidance as to what you would like us to do

Please specify what action you would like us to take about your reported concern.

You should also contact the Emergency Services immediately on 999 if you witness a fire being raised.

Important: You may be called as a witness if we or the Police take legal action.
