At home with Fife Housing Group – 3 April 2020

3 April 2020

Welcome to our weekly round-up of information and advice which you may find useful during the current Coronavirus crisis.

We are endeavouring to maintain as many services as possible and remain fully contactable on 08000 274 007 and via info@fifehg.org.uk. Please also note that our text number will change to 07520 632 740 as of Monday 6 April.

Although we are currently restricting repairs to emergencies and gas/electrical safety checks only, non-emergency and routine repairs are being logged to be scheduled as soon as possible after we are advised that it is safe to do so. A more detailed update on our services can be found here.

Important message for Universal Credit claimants

If you are in receipt of Universal Credit (UC) and have not already done so, please update your UC Journal with your new monthly rent and service charges, as detailed in your rent increase letter, as soon as possible.

If you have recently made a new claim for Universal Credit (UC), you will need to put your new rent on your journal once it is set up. If you are unsure what to do, please contact your Housing Officer who will be able to assist you.

Regularly updated guidance and advice regarding Universal Credit is also available via the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Twitter Feed.

Staying safe during COVID-19 – a guide for victims and survivors of domestic abuse

If you are currently experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse you might be worried about self-isolating with someone who is harming you. Safe Lives have created this guide to help you think about what you might do over the coming weeks to stay safe.

Please store and dispose of your rubbish responsibly

We understand that Fife Council’s bin collection services are also being affected by the current pandemic, you can find the latest updates on disruptions here, but it is essential that you follow the guidance provided and ensure that all waste is either stored or disposed of safely. Please do not store any rubbish in stairwells or communal areas as this is both a health and safety issue and a breach of your tenancy agreement.
