Fife Housing Group donates £6,000 to local charities ahead of Christmas

6 November 2025

Fife Housing Group continue ‘Giving Something Back’ by donating a further £6,000 to local charities supporting people in crisis in the run up to Christmas

Fife Housing Group have donated an additional £6,000 to local charities across Fife through its ‘Giving Something Back’ programme.

Donations have been made to Kirkcaldy, Levenmouth and Dunfermline Foodbanks, The Big House Multibank and Fife Women’s Aid.

Colleagues Alex Tweedie and Suzanne McKerrow visited each charity to present a cheque and hear more about the challenges facing local people. All of the organisations reported that demand for their services is higher than ever, particularly at this time of year.

During a visit to Dunfermline Foodbank, Alex and Suzanne were given a tour of the facilities by Assistant Manager, Vicky Gorn, who said: “We’re so grateful to Fife Housing Group for their generous donation of £1,500 to Dunfermline Foodbank. With demand higher than ever, we’re now having to purchase around £3,000 worth of food every month just to keep up.
This donation will go directly towards helping local people who find themselves in crisis, ensuring we can continue to offer support when it’s needed most. This is such a welcome boost at a time when we’re seeing so many struggling. We can’t thank Fife Housing Group enough for their kindness and continued support.”

Director of Housing, Beverley Graham, added: “We are still very much in a cost of living crisis. People are feeling the aftermath of the past few years, which means many in our communities, including our tenants, will need to access a foodbank this year. It's a very sad situation and we want to make sure we help as many people as we can, particularly through this difficult winter.”

The funding from the ‘Giving Something Back’ programme is made possible through the generosity of Fife Housing Group’s contractors, who pledge to donate 2% of their invoiced costs to benefit local causes as part of the charitable framework.

This year, the programme has also awarded £20,000 in grants to 13 local groups and projects across Fife, including Team Jak Foundation, The Cottage Family Centre, Linton Lane Centre and Homelands Trust.

The ‘Giving Something Back’ grants programme will return next year, with applications open to any charitable organisation operating in Fife. Further information will be available on Fife Housing Group’s website and social media channels in the coming months.
